Celebrating 25 years of ‘Asleep In The Back’

To celebrate 25 years of ‘Asleep In The Back’, elbow will return to Manchester’s Ritz this November for three very special hometown shows on 20th, 21st & 22nd November 2026.

The band will perform ‘Asleep In The Back’ in its entirety, alongside selected B-sides and rarities.

Guy Garvey: “It’s fascinating for us to revisit the atmosphere we created, and the Ritz feels like the perfect setting to capture that atmosphere. A time machine night for us and for the fans. See you there.”

Guy Garvey joins Shaun Keaveny for Inspired By Libraries, a one-off live event at Manchester Central Library on Thursday 5 June, from 8.00pm to 9.00pm.

Presented by Manchester City of Literature, the evening will explore themes of music, memory, creativity, community and the role libraries play in our cultural lives — all in the warm, thoughtful style you’d expect from two of Manchester’s most distinctive voices.

They’ll also be discussing elbow’s brand new EP, Audio Vertigo Echo elbow EP5, which is released the following day on 6 June.
