Today marks 25 years since the release of ‘Asleep in the Back’.

Originally released on 7th May 2001, elbow’s debut album introduced tracks including ‘Red’, ‘Newborn’, ‘Powder Blue’ and ‘Scattered Black and Whites’, and was later shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize.

To mark the anniversary, a selection of archive videos, live footage and clips from the long out-of-print ‘Asleep in the Back’ film are now being made available on the band’s official YouTube channel for the first time.

Guy Garvey’s ‘From The Vaults’ returns to Sky Arts this evening for a fourth series, with Guy continuing to unearth era-defining musical performances, long lost studio appearances and revealing interviews that have remained on the shelves for decades.

Tonight’s episode focuses on 1978, and the continuing punk rock revolution. Watch as The Undertones make a very early TV outing on Granada, Tony Wilson catches up with Buzzcocks on location in Manchester, and Janet Street Porter chats with Johnny Rotten about life after the Sex Pistols.

Elsewhere cult ATV show Revolver captures some legendary live sets from X-Ray Spex, The Only Ones and Rich Kids, and Guy looks back at a classic performance from influential reggae collective Steel Pulse.
